The First 5 Things I Did After Waking Up Are:

Are you aware that how you begin your day can set the tone for your entire day?

Yeah, I’m sure you’ve heard that before. But have you tested it out?

I have.

And I’ve found that how I start my day makes a huge impact on my mood, my mindset and my mud.

Of course life happens and it’s not always going to work out the way we want it.

But if we make different choices, we will be able to start our day more times than not, the way that serves us best.

Here’s the first 5 things I did after I woke up today:

  1. Made the bed
  2. Brushed my teeth/scraped tongue
  3. Hugged and kissed Arrow (my pup)
  4. Drank a cup of warm water with wedge of lime
  5. Yoga & meditation practice

By starting my day that way, my mood, mindset and mud are not in control and my capacity to do the things I want to do and get done today is huge.

By contrast, some days may look like this:

  1. Brush teeth/scrape tongue
  2. Go on Facebook/Instagram
  3. Check email
  4. Hug Arrow
  5. Try to remember what it is I need to do that day

By starting my day that way, I’m more apt to get less done, not take as good care of myself, and feel unmotivated.

It’s pretty amazing how by starting my day the way that empowers me, which takes longer to do, I actually get more done and can even spend more time in stillness if I want to.

It’s pretty amazing.

What are the first 5 things you did after waking up this morning?

Do share below.

And ask yourself did those things empower or dis-empower you?

And what other choices would serve you better?

I’m all ears!

inhale – enjoy – exhale,

gina

Why I Almost Quit Yoga

I never told this story about how I almost quit yoga. And I’m sharing this now because I believe it will help you see what can happen if you believe your thoughts to be true (like I did) instead of taking a step back and questioning them, which is key. I started practicing yoga in 1999.… Continue Reading
