You are what you eat.
Have you experienced this for yourself? For instance if you eat a lot of sugar regularly, you may feel sluggish, tired, edgy and even anxious. Or if you regularly drink caffeine, you may feel energized the days you drink it and if you try to go a day without it you may feel unable to get going or even develop a headache.
Or lets say you eat very clean meaning no processed foods. You eat just the right amount of good fat, carbs and protein and because of that you feel naturally energized, clear-minded, focused and healthier overall.
So what you eat affects the body and also can affect the mind.
The same thing goes for what you do on a daily basis.
The truth is:
You are what you practice every day.
If you need more proof, just take a peek around you and within you.
Let’s take an easy example first.
If you take the time daily to put back what you used during the day and tidied up your living area and work area daily, you’d feel more organized and have less clutter around.
If you don’t put things back and tidy up daily, at some point your stuff will be all over the place. That leads to, in most cases, clutter and dis-organization which makes your world feel more in disarray. That can then lead to overwhelm and feeling exhausted just looking at all that stuff piling up and then you lack motivation and focus and so on.
Let’s take another example.
Peace and Calm (aka less stressed out)
Let’s say you want to feel more at peace in your daily life and sweat the small stuff a ton less.
What are you doing on a daily basis to have more of that?
Are you spending time in nature?
Are you spending time doing your favorite hobby?
Are you meditating?
Are you practicing yoga?
Are you taking walks?
Are you spending time with your favorite peeps?
Are you reading those books you want to get to?
Then take a moment to reflect on what you are doing on a daily basis.
If it doesn’t involve anything that will bring you more peace and calm, then how do you expect to feel more peace and calm?
The Truth Behind a Daily Practice
The truth behind a daily practice is that it will bring you more of what you want and how you want to feel.
If I did not practice what I want daily, I never would have been able to heal the anxiety I used to feel on a daily basis.
Was it easy? No. Simple? Yes. Hard? Yep, hard as hell.
Many days I just wanted to stay home and hide. I didn’t want anyone to know I was dealing with anxiety so I did my best to hide it even when I was experiencing an anxiety attack when I was around people.
Then the time came when I got sick of feeling that way and I researched what would help me relieve the anxiety I was having. I tried many different avenues until I found what worked for me and what really resonated with me.
And that’s what you need to do as well in order to be and feel how you want to be and feel on a daily basis.
Embark on an Exploration

- Decide what you want more of in your life and how you’d like to feel.
- Explore and research different avenues that can help you be and feel more like that.
- Create a simple daily practice to move through every. single. day.
And know that your practice will evolve as you evolve. So feel free to try new things and adjust your practice. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution. And that’s a really cool thing. Your practice gets to be unique because you are the designer behind it. You are the creator of your practice. And you are also the one that needs to put that creation into form.
